Need tire size and source for 83 240d

owners manual asks for 175 sr 14.. or something like that.. anyone give me a modern tire size that will work?

185/70-14. go to 5.5 rim I think. go to www.tirerack.com good
company try Kuhmo I like them. stay away from Michelin, no
good

I would recommend 195/70 instead,

since the basic factory installed sizes on W123 cars tend to be just a shade on the skimpy side for the basic weight of these vehicles and the amount of extra tonnage that can be stuffed into them. If it were a 300D, I'd say 205/70 minimum, in fact.

here are three sizes that would work on your car
175-14 which is actually 175/80-14
195/70-14
205/70-14

and the OE wheel specs are:
Wheel Size.... 14X5.5
Offset........ 23
