Well then I've spent quite a bit too much fixing it up, LOL!
The last time I did a cylinder head job on a W124 w/ M104 it cost more than I'm asking for this car. I paid $2300 for it in June w/ a bad cylinder head gasket then put $3300 in parts on it (at my cost/wholesale) + a TON of labor. Please forgive me if I'm a bit insulted at your post. . . The world is full of sad, worn-out/used up MBs that have been neglected or worse. Well sorted examples ready to give a new owner years of reliable service are few & far between, this is one such car, and my price is quite fair. |

I hate seeing someone that isnt even interested in the car saying the car is overpriced or trying to devalue it publicly. Price negotiation should be private messaging and not public to try and devalue the car. The market WILL determine final selling price, not trashing the car in an open forum. This forum should not allow price policing postings as it is insulting to the seller and this forum. Sellers should always try and get the most for their item whether it is a house, car, boat, etc. Negotiating openly is wrong! I feel the selling price will always be determined on its own with the market determining the price.
Leave the sellers alone, if your not interested in the car and read the posting, laugh to yourself if you feel price is too high or condition is overated, and keep your negativity to yourself. |

Thanks gatorwesty!!! Your post, and a friend in ATL who just paid $5200 for a beautiful black & tan '95 wagon (in similar shape to mine, w/ similar miles) made my day!!! I'm not a flipper looking to make money on this car, I'm an individual who put quite a lot of time/money/love into this car & then (a little too late) decided to change directions. Hard enough to take the loss w/o having someone take public pot shots at my Car!!!

Negative comments about price and condition are already against the TOU however it appears the Mod team here pays little attention to enforcing the rules. Perhaps by design or perhaps due to the low pay and long hours...

That's what the report post is for. Bring it to our attention. We do not read every thread.

Resurrecting this long dead thread. . .
because after four plus years in my possession, this gem is once again available. Please read back to see all the fine work that Dan Rasp did before I purchased the car. Since the purchase, I've had it maintained by Mercedes mechanic par excellence, Pierre Hedary and have $5700 in receipts from him to demonstrate the work done. This is on top of routine things like regular Mobil One oil changes and tires.
A few more dings and scratches over the intervening years, but still a fine, reliable S124. I drive it 500 miles round trip here in Florida without thinking twice. Never let me down and runs, drives and looks great. Rust free! As Dan said earlier in this thread, "The world is full of sad, worn-out/used up MBs that have been neglected or worse. Well sorted examples ready to give a new owner years of reliable service are few & far between, this is one such car, and my price is quite fair." Asking $3500. More details upon request. Best, Joe |
