So the price dropped 4000 bucks is a few days... Nice...

Let's see how many days it takes him to realize he has a 20 year old car that only the handful of people that frequent this forum would be interested in.

I'm sorry but it's not the good old days anymore no matter how bad we want it to be and no matter how popular diesel Mercedes were back in 2000-2010...

Hardly anyone wants them anymore, and the select crowd that does have so many connections through out the.culture that they can find one in similar condition for 2500 or one with a crappy interior for 1000 bucks and buy an interior from a new.one for 500 and install.it.themselves.

I honestly for see that after bartering u eill receive $2500 for this car. I'm sorry but it's just real that's how it is now

I'm sure someone would come out of the woodwork and pay in the neighborhood of $4500 for that.
It is really clean in those pics, rather astounding for the mileage.. $2500 is too low, especially for a turbo model.

Just wanted to add my voice to the "it's worth $2,500" crowd. Mbolton is thoroughly outvoted. Beautiful but too many miles! The OP is getting free bumps though!

One way to find out, eBay it or put it on BaT!

Around here $2500 buys a beater w210 with a turbo 606, that car is no beater. The mileage doesn't scare me off, looks well maintained.

I would consider any reasonable offer but probably will end up selling to someone who actually sees the car in person. It's not just your run of the mill, clean E300D. Heck, I am registered for Starfest with the track events, if I haven't sold it by then, I may just take it over there instead of the 2012.

I have examined many (and purchased some) auto that were, in what was described as, mint condition only to go and look at them and find that they really wasn't. I haven't ever purchased one that I did not have to do something to. But I have never had someone that purchased one of my vehicles that ever had regrets. Most folks buying a vehicle off the internet are looking for a low priced bargain. And a lot of times you get something you didn't bargain for.

Same, where I live a $2500 E300TD would be a money pit POS. I'd say that one would bring 3.5K - 4k in my area. For example. https://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/d/1998-mercedes-benz-e300-turbo/6493076122.html

Thanks for the reply, but let me pick your $3900 example apart if I may.
No Xenon lights, lens cloudy.
Poor paint, area behind front wheels, rear bumper appears cracked.
Interior dirty, map pockets appear stretched, steering wheel needs refinishing.
Does not have leather interior.
Motor missing cover over valves, low coolant light on.
Non Michelin tires, right rear door panel damaged, drivers door panel badly worn.
And a guess on front suspension wear.
There is no comparison.....

that is a $1500 car.. low coolant light, battered interior and the car needs a detail. we don't drive benzes for them to look ratty like that. I'm sure it needs suspension work. That guy won't get close to what he wants. I bet he didn't even let it warm up before moving the car to take pictures.

Good luck with the sale. It certainly presents well. That is about as nice looking as they come 20 years later. The prices for these cars peaked a while back unfortunately, and 300k miles gives many folks pause. Sometimes cars like this are worth more to keep, than to sell.

Thanks, only reason I thought about selling it was that I just purchased my wife a 2005 retro T-Bird. She always wanted one. Hard to justify 4 vehicles for 2 people. If it doesn't bring $7500 i'll just keep it. Not in a bind for money and it doesn't cost much to just sit in my shop.

No, but everything has a price. It'd be xpensive. Even my 06 E320 CDI with 74K - has a price I'd let it go at.

Well, something like this is what I have in mind: https://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/cto/d/1999-mercedes-e300/6517551524.html
Too bad I found out about it a week after it sold. And no, I have no idea why the ad is still up.

Since your brother's has more miles, I would expect that it would be a little less. And I'm sure the OP doesn't mind the minor, brief hijack. His ad is getting free bumps!
