need reliable mercedes mechanic arlington, va.

Dear All: I recently purchased a 1990 mercedes benz 420 SEL and will need a reliable mechanic, can anyone out there recommend one? I live in arlington, va. thanks for all your help. Siduri

Dealerships are American Service Center in Ballston and HBL in Tysons. ASC has a great parts department, but for a 1990 model I would use an indepdent, mercedes-specialist mechanic. There are several really good ones in Northern Virginia. I personally use Don Pool Mercedes Benz and think they're fantastic. They're in Arlington by the EFC metro. 703-534-4222.

Carlos is the owner and master tech. and know how to diagnose problems not change parts. He has been a citizen for 25 years and know these cars cold.
Beautiful. Clean shop.
He has worked on my 300TD for 12 years and can usually tell me the issues with my car on the phone.
Anyway good shop.

I concur with Michael's suggestion regards seeing an independent mechanic for that car. I have had very good experiences with Reese Sherbaf at Fairfax Service Center on Prosperity Avenue in Fairfax.

His shop does good work for a fair price and he'll probably be far more informative about the work he'll do than the folks at either ASC or HBL.

I went to his (Carlos) shop last week, just went there to check the location of his shop and meet the guy himself.

It is a decent shop, Carlos seems to be a nice guy. We had a little chat and left. Don't want to take most of his time and bother him... His working on a bmw then.

Saw 3 60's SL in very good shape one is imported straight from germany.

Good guy, nice place. I'll bring my car back one day and try his services.

... just sharing my thoughts w you guys :)
