FSS data conflict ?? ML 320 1999
I want to be able to check my oil level in the FSS window. According to the Owner's Manual, the "wrench" symbol and miles remaining until next lube appear in the window with the key in Pos # 2, after pushing the button twice.
Also, the manual says the oil level will appear in this window, with the key in pos # 2, after pushing the button twice. This appears to be a conflict. I don't want the oil change mileage info; do want to check oil level in the FSS. How do I get rid of the "wrench" symbol and related info so I can check oil level only ?? |
Turn the key to position 2 without starting the engine and wait about 10 seconds. The read out will change to -------- then push the button twice and the oil level will be shown. It can be tricky to push the button twice correctly. I sometimes have to try a couple of times before it works.

I have also found you need to be on level ground when you do the check. A slight incline won't allow the display procedure.

Also the engine has to be shut off for about 20 minutes-half hour before the measuring system will work.

Solved the oil level check problem
Comments from other members and specific help from Gilly solved this probem.
I found that it is necessary to push the dash button in twice in rapid succession, in order to get the oil level reading. If you hesitiate very long between the two pushes, the reading does not appear. BlueEagle289 |
