280GE A/C dryer
 

I have a parts problem. I have a 1986 280GE with air conditioning. The compressor is the older York model and the drier is a closed type, no window and I beleive has four ports. It has had a system leakage test and the compressor is OK. The service mechanic has told me (the reason for the low cooling temperature) that there is a pressure build up in the system probably caused be something clogging the dryer and he feels it should be replaced. However, the cost of a new MB original equipment dryer is costly, is there a OEM or aftermarket from another manufacturer of equal specifications and quality? Is a used or rebuilt available? Can anyone tell me who is the original manufacturer, YORK?
