Help-98 Catalytic Converter Weld

My '98 ML with 103,000 miles has a driver side cat that has
a break in the weld - my Sa says welding it will not hold,
labor and parts are $875. Sounds right to you all?

Use search. Use my name and Catalytic Converter and you'll find what you're looking for. Yes it can be welded, or should I say at least mine was.
