Video Entertainment on '99...anyone get one installed?
Couldn't get the OEM setup due to the lack of optic harness on the 99 (vs. 00 and up).
Looking at the wide variety of aftermarket systems, I want to finally get one installed, but I'm wary of having some apprentice screwing up my W163. Anyone else have theirs done aftermarket? |
The OEM system should fit fine, since it doesn't connect to the fiber. Currently on sale at Potomac for $425. Paul Dick installed it in a 2001 with very explicit documentation which should apply to a 99 as well.

Wow. Pretty informative links! Looks like the ticket for a DIY like me!
I'm assuming that MB emblem on the video screen backplate is an add-on? |
Yeah, the star appears to be Paul's personal touch. This system was designed by a MB engineer. Google for Gerhard Steinle and you may find his portfolio at Prisma Design Intl. :)
