Overhead Control Panel light replacement

MY2000 430 light is out/blown in the upper overhead control panel where the miles per gallon, etc are displayed. Does anyone know first how to access the bulb, the specs for the bulb would be greatly appreciated.

Last time I checked, It was a LED built into the trip computer unit.
You may be able to D&A it and solder in a new one however.
The MB parts catalog does not list a repair part like a bulb.
Sorry,

Trip Computer Light Out

I've got a 1999 ML320 with the same issue. According to the dealer the entire computer needs to be replaced. Since it still works, I just live with the non-lit readout If anyone knows of an aftermarket replacement let me know.

Otherwise the truck has 65k on it and runs fine.

Trip computer lights out

I ran into the same thing on my wife's ML320. You have two lower cost options to repair it that are a lot cheaper than the dealer:

1) Find a shop in your local area that does speedometer repair for autos. Most of these should have the ability to repair the trip computer. The local shop here in Jax FL is A1 Speedometer, who will repair one for (6 month old estimate) $100-$200 depending on how much needs repairing.

2) Check ebay. I found a NEW in the package trip computer last week for $95 plus shipping. Just put it in Wednesday, and it works like a charm.
