Rear Problem
 

Pinion gear in the rear is bad. Noise is getting louder............What kind of money will it cost to repair the rear. Is getting a new pumpkin installed cheaper? Do they sell rebuilt rears ? I can't believe it went bad with only 103,500 miles...........Would MB help with the cost ? ...........I have had $3500 in repairs in the last three years..........(thank God for extended warranties ) I keep thinking thast I am restoring a 1998 ml 320 .......Serenity Now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to make things worst I just bought a 2005 C 240 4 matic................... I've seen entire rear suspension assemblies on ebay, don't remember how much, but it seemed dirt cheap considering what you got. I think the dealer will charge about $2500 for the center diff assembly, but call and check.

Did the oil leak out from the pinion or output seals causing it to get real loud or what?
