ETS & ABS Lights On After Front Brake Job
I have a ML 320 1998 could you please give me some advice on this thing it is driving me nuts. The ABS/ETS lights are on and won't go off everything else fine except for some rather wierd idle problems at a stop. The Brake lights work and the cruise control works, all just fine so temporarily have ruled out the brake light switch, and battery is fairly new. Does the OVP exist on my model because if it exists on my vehicle I would like to check it out myself and see if this is causing the problem. I also hear rhat the ABS sensors themselves could be the culprit since everything was working fine before I had the front pads replaced, and within a week of this service the lights magically appeared, both the ETS and the ABS lights. So how does one go about cleaning, inspecting and or even locating the ABS sensors, are they on each wheel and maybe even elsewhere. From what I gather by reading as much as I could find on this site from Gilly, MBDOC, and other's posts on this subject they are somewhere near the brake caliper, but have no idea what or exactly to look for. I did get down there and checked to see if all was connected etc. but uncertain if actually did anything to the sensors themselves, but for one brief period in tine the lights went off and didn't come back on for about 20 miles then boom here they come again and now they are staying on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
