Air Distribution Switch is Stuck!

I have a 1999 Mercedes ML430.

The Air Distribution switch on the Climate Control panel is stuck in its current position. I was only able to turn it once recently but for the most part it appears to be stuck solid and will not rotate.

Any ideas on what is wrong and how to fix it?
