engine shuddering and bogging at idle-help
I have strong shuddering at idle intermittently which leads me to believe its the engine and tranny mounts. Does anyone have a diagram of these?
As well, I get intermittent bogging, towards stalling but never stalls, at idle as well, is this a strong indicator of the CPS failing? Thanks, Chris |

There a several items that will cause that. I wouldn't replace motor mounts yet.
CPS is a probably the most common....... |

i am sure the mounts are bad to begin with because the shuddering at idle feels like the engine is resting on the chassis, it is that violent, the rest I agree seem to be CPS related.

Well yes, that is a lot more conclusive. Bad engine mounts can cause mis-fire type symptoms. With that engine you are supposed to also reset the rotor adaptation data after replacing engine mounts. Directly related to CPS function. I'm pretty sure you need the MB software to do so.
Also, when you have abnormal engine noises/vibration with that engine, keep a close eye on the front crank pulley. Watch it while the engine is running and make sure it turns true and is not wobbling. |

thanks for the heads up, i wasnt aware of the software issue.
I just replaced the front crank pulley as well so I know this is not a contender this time, it was before though and I had to pay for it, MB wouldnt. thanks again. |
