02 Instrument Panel Lights Dimming
 

I have an 02 ML 320 and the readouts for clock, odometeter, etc all look fine normally until I turn ON my headlights. Once I do that they all go dark! Eventually they will begin to fade slowly back on, then fade out again etc. Most of the time they eventually come on and stay on, but I have no clue what could be the cause of this. It's running fine, rpms, engine etc all seem solid. I've heard of others having this issue but never have seen ideas for resolution.

No one wants to say that most likely you have an instrument cluster failure..
