Window temporarily stuck on 99 ML320
The driver's side window on my girl friend's ML stuck down about a third. She commonly puts both windows down about that far when she starts up in the hot Dallas weather and then puts them back up after the A/C has revved up.
I ran the window down some and then it went up fully after that. What should I look for as a cause of this condition; is something beginning to fail and if so what? All other windows are working normally at this time. Thanks, Ben Carter |
Most common problem is the window switch assembly.
At least 50/1 to every bad motor. |
ML window
Thanks, M.B. Doc ..... I replaced my ML window switch assy at 55K ... I wonder if just that one switch can be dirty or loose? Or, should I plan on replacing the whole thing if this occurs again....Ben Carter

i have taken them apart to see what fails, there is a white plastic lever that Breaks under the black part. just be easy when you raise the window, pulling the switch harder does not make it raise any faster:D

Window solution
I too had the window switch problem and had the switch replaced ASAP. However a few weeks later window wont go down or up again intermittently. The mechanic pulled open my door's sidings. He cleaned, degreased and lubed all the window winder's moving parts. Lo and behold this solved my problem.
