Ml 500
Hi, I'm interested in purchasing a 2004-2005 ML500 and was wondering if there is anything I should be looking out for. And is this a reliable vehicle.

I just bought a 2003 ML500.Really good car.Supposed to be awesome in the snow, havent tried it out though.I havent run into an problems that couldnt be covered under warranty (normal things). They kind of eat gas,but I definetly could not switch to the 350 after the 500.I think its a great buy.

Have to agree that the 2003 & later ML's are a good vehicle..the early "built to a price" problems were fixed.

Like the ML500 the ML430 eats gas a bit. Price you pay for having the V8. But as snp8990, I would not switch to the V6 version, ML320 or ML350, over the V8. I know soome V6's have lots of power, but they will never sound like a V8. I love the sound of the engine when you step on it.

Yup,the 8-cylinder sounds awesome. The BMW 4.4i sounds so cool as well, but I dont really like the interior. Most of the 2003 ML350's dont have a navigation either,im not sure about the newer ones.I think the ML500 Inspiration Edition would have been cool, but its not a big deal. When buying an ML500,just be sure to look for normal things and listen closely when you drive it to see if any sounds are coming from it.Otherwise, the only things that I had to do with my ML are regular services, the passenger side cup-holder would not stay up,and the ash tray would sometimes get stuck. This was all covered by the warranty though. One thing, make sure you buy an ML with ATLEAST 10,000 miles left on the factory warranty.I also bought another warranty for the car after the factory one expires.
