AMG32 Supercharger to a ML320 ?
My kid came across a couple of AMG32 superchargers. It looks like I could bolt one right up to the engine in my 98 ML320. (I do have an affinity for blowers.:D )
So, other than the mechanical swap, how do I get the engine management system to work with the changes, or, what parts from an AMG32 do I need to swap out on my ML? |
I was wondering the exact same thing.
Anyone know if the compression ratio is different on the non supercharged M112's? Do the motors share the same internals? How adaptive are the ECU's? Can they handle a supercharger or is a piggyback ecu/chip required? |

ok here is some information I got off another forum
it can be done, for everyones information...the ECU on the car is practically left untouched when doing this...... main things needed to be done in order to perform this is having a custom pulley built in order to LOWER the peak boost of the Supercharger to a safe 8lbs of boost or lower... fuel needs to be added via an FMU such as Vortech's 12:1 system & a KenneBell boost-a-pump. Also, many people adjust timing & modifiy air/fuel rations via a Split Second unit (www.splitsec.com) ...... that above, along with ALL the supercharger, hea exchanger & intercooler off a 32' AMG are needed, plus...the relocation of the MAF sensor will be needed depending on model/year of the car. total cost of this task is about $4000+ depending on how good of a deal you can ge on parts, also, that is if you do 80% of the work yourself. Now I think I can source the parts for signifigantly less than 4k from auto recyclers/ebay. |
