fuel meter gauge

The Fuel usage meter gauge in the ceiling console of my 98 ML320 just went to the "----- Miles" and stayed there. I can't turn it off, reset or change modes or anything.

I remember awhile back reading in some posts about reseting same or trouble shooting. Can one tell me how or give me the link to the post.

Thanks again

Well, It's been four days now and it's running flawless. I pulled the fuse from the terminal and waited ten minutes and replaced it. BINGO, it came on in proper sequence. I had to reset the calender and time.
