Low Range Limits
Whew - lots of snow! I can't find limits on low range use.... Any practical advise on maximum speed to use low range and any max distance. Would it be reasonable to drive around town in low range all day? Speeds perhaps up to 45mph?
Thanks |

I would not do low range at any speed over 20 mph for more then a few blocks. If you can go that fast, you do not need the low range engaged.
Just because the snow is deep, there is no need for low, unless you can literally not get the car to move from a stop due to snow blocking your path. Low does nothing for traction on these trucks (not like the old days when low = lock). Leave it in normal high range, let the esp, abs, espn, etc. do its thing making all the strange noises and flashing lights, and it will go just fine. |
