ML 430 Sunroof

The wind deflector on my sunroof popped off. The two 6" long spring type clips that hold the deflector came off also. It appears that the small plastic hold down pieces are broken where the ends of the spring clip go under. Is this a difficult part to replace. It looks like it just clips on the inside of the sunroof track. Expensive?
Thanks
John

Happens all of the time on ML's...takes less than 1/2 hour to repair.

Did this job on mine a few years ago.

Unfortunately, the dealership parts counter wouldn't sell the replacement clip. You had to buy the whole deflector assembly ($72 back then).

Took me 15 minutes to do the job, but make sure you are doing this in a well-lit environment. I couple of times the part slipped while installing the spring loaded assembly...thus the small part ends up flying off into the abyss awaiting discovery somewhere on the garage floor...

wind deflector

Where can i buy the wind deflector for a 2001 ML 320 silver in color? Is this easy to install by myself?

TIA

It's a dealer part, but inexpensive. I'm not sure about the color, mine was black. I replaced mine last year and, as M.B.Doc said, it's a piece of cake to replace.

I bought my set at Caliber Motors 800-252-6877--deflector was black and had to buy entire setup to get the one spring piece that had bent in my vehicle.
