ML430 Headlights - Cloudy

Hi, has anyone experienced their headlight/housing appearing very cloudy or milky? If so, can you clean it from the inside where it is or does it have to be replaced? Thank you!

its something with the plastic.. I do believe some aluminum polish buffed onto it will clean it up.. or I think they sell stuff to do it at auto part stores

like Flitz or something like that

TheDon is right - it's the plastic that 'ages'. While I've not heard of using aluminum polish, it would probably work real good. There are also a number of plastic polishes available at your local auto parts outlet that can also be used. Cloudy headlights are common on ML's. Polish the exterior of the lens and you'll be amazed at the transformation.

I recently did this at work to a chauffeurs car.. He was out there buffing his headlamps with a cloth while waiting for his client to come out. I grabbed some of the plastic polish I had in my trunk(friend needed it) and let him have it and told him to let the other drivers use it too if they have a problem.. He found me later next week and told me how his boss was amazed at how his car had the best headlights out of them all. he thought the driver went and bought new ones!

What brand of plastic polish do you use? I've been trying different ones, including Meguiars - and it's good - but I'm always looking for something better.

Blue Magic headlight restorer and 2000 grit wet sanding did the trick on the jetta. Make sure to have a good buffer unless you like a scratched up lense!
