Angry Parking brake engages/beeps while driving

hello....
Sometimes while i'm driving my parking brake engages on it's own....the car doesn't shut off but the brake light come on, my spedometer drops to zero, and if i try to accelerate it pulls like the parking brake is on..but if i pull on the handle to release it, it's already released...i have to pull over, turn my car off, then turn it back on and the light turns off. I've taken it to the dealer twice, first time i went they said my battery was bad so i replaced it and it did it again a couple of weeks after...then i took it back and they told me my relay for my abs was burned so i replaced that and a couple of days later it started to do it again....it's very random some days not at all and some days 2 or 3 times while i'm driving....as annoying as it is i'm more concerned with the safty issues, even though my car doesn't shut off if i have to accelerate for some reason it wont.....i've been on other mb forums and a couple of people seem to have the same problem but no solution.....
another thing i noticed is when it does this my trip monitor shows weird numbers...my gas shows i have like 600 more miles on my tank and miles per gallon shows random numbers
HELP!!!!!
thanks

p.s. i have a 98 ml320

Doubt the parking brakes are applying. they are mechanical.

But the ASR system could be applying the regular service brakes. YOU need to have the TRACTION system scanned for codes.

still...

okay so i'm still having the e-brake light problem....I've taken it to the dealer several times and they can't figure it out.....again what happens is i'm driving and the e-brake light comes on the car beeps and if i try to accelerate the car is heavy like when you try to drive with your ebrake on. i have to pull over turn my car off and turn it back on for it to go off..i've been trying to see if there is anything triggering this but it seems to happen randomly...sometimes when my gas light is about to go on sometimes when i hit a bump....another thing i noticed is when this happens my trip monitor shows weird codes, shows i have a huge amount of miles left on the tank...like 800-900
PLEASE HELP!

Ive had this happen twice in one day. I had to restart the car twice then it never happened again. Im guessing, some bebris got stuck in the sensor by the e brake?

yeah i think it's something with the sensor i just can't understand why the dealer can't figure it out...i've taken it in 3 times and they say well if we drive it will it happen....i keep telling them it's random times....it happend 3 times to me on the freeway this morning! kind of scary considering the car won't accelerate fast once i come to a stop

so i've started to notice that it does this a lot more when my gas light is about to go on.....and then when it does my trip monitor shows weird codes, is there some kind of sensor for the gas that would affect my brake system? sorry i keep bringing this up but no one i've taken it to is able to figure it out

I know this is pretty simple and whoever has looked at the car has probably checked this but I wonder if it's simply the switch on the E-brake pedal that's bad or out of adjustment. On my 300, if the brake pedal is even slightly engaged, the computer is reluctant to give the engine fuel.

Also, this might be strange but has anyone checked the speed sensor? This might explain the connection to the fuel range anomolies... Will the dealer give you a list of the codes on the car?

Now my ml has developped a constant beeping and all the brake relate lights are on(bas, srs, ebrake, pad sensor). I tried disconnecting the battery, but the lights and the beeping wont go away. What is wrong with the car?
