ML startup smoke

I have a 1999 ML430, 82k miles. I drove it pretty hard the other day, about 100mph for 2 or 3 miles. Now when I start it up it blows a cloud of smoke. But just at startup, and only when it has sat overnight. it happened recently so I dont know yet if it is using measureable amounts of oil. Any help would be appreciated

Not knowing the history of your motor, I can't say whether it's something to be concerned about. But on occasion, my 99 ML320 did the same thing at around the same mileage on initial startups first thing in the morning...but not consistently.

If there is a problem burning oil remember you have the extended engine warranty, 10 years/150,000 miles due to the FSS lawsuit. My 2 cents.

German cars are made to be driven! I don't think that's why it's smoking. My ML has 172K miles, has seen 110 mph, and doesn't smoke.

What color is the smoke?
