ML Windshield Pillar Trim

Anyone know if the window pillar covers pop off. My cloth covering is separating and I'd like to make the cosmetic repair but when I pryed and pulled a little, it didn't want to pop off. I didn't want to apply much force without checking if there is a method to this. Can anyone advise me how I can do this?

Thanks! Ed

ML Pillar removal

Those pillars do come off, but I don't know the exact procedure. My fabric on the left pillar became loose and I just carefully put some glue stick adhesive in under it with a small screwdriver and then pressed down the fabric all over the area to be sealed. It seemed to work very well and is still tight after 6 or 8 months. Just a thought. Ben Carter

Hey Ben,

Thanks for the tip, I was thinking of doing something like that but wanted to explore doing a R&R. Did you use any special glue stick or just the common paper (yellow) stick?

Glue Stick for MB Pillar covering

I just used the standard yellow paper glue stick. Once you have a little bit in every area that is loose and press it down, it tends to spread around under the fabric. Then you can smooth the whole thing toward the front edge, etc etc. It provides a good adhesive effect that seems to work well. Ben Carter
