Question 99 ML430 goes to neutral while driving

Hello friends, this is the third time is happening. while im driving the car goes to neutral and the engine is revving up but no go and 5-10 seconds later it will start working again. anybody here with the same problem. any suggestions. last i was at the local mechanic he said that my tranny fluid level was good. should i believe him or should i have the dealer service the tranny?.

sounds like your transmission doesnt have enough transmission fluid...turn on your car put it in neutral and check its transmission fluid...you're probably running out and ur mechanic wants to repair a more expensive thing breaking down because of low fluid
