2001 ML 320 70K miles anti-freeze around oil filler cap

noticed a little anti-freeze under my oil filler cap

Means your cylinder head gasket is bad

how did you determine it was antifreeze? typical crank case moisture will usually condense there

it was yellow same colour as antifreeze. could it be the intake manifold?

why not post a picture? i am willing to wager it is simply condensation, the residue that forms on the underside of the oil cap will have a yellow/light brown tint to it, the color is from the oil. is the coolant level dropping? also usually with mercedes leaks you get the opposite, oil in the coolant. also if there was enough coolant in the system to get on the oil cap you would have alot in the oil and i am sure when you pull the dipstick it would look milky by this point.

Agreed...what are temps like in your area these days? This is typical in cold weather.

Most likely the engine isn't driven long enough to get hot enough to burn that condensation off.
