Help. Does anyone have a copy of the shop manual? for the ML.

Help. Does anyone have a copy of the shop manual? for a 2000 ML.The section that shows how to disassemble and reassemble the gas door actuator (the mechanism that locks the gas door).

You could see my thread. I am having trouble with my gas door actuator. I like to take it out to see if I can repair it or replace it. It seems the motor is working but the gears are slipping.

Posting it would be great.

thanks in advance.

I had trouble with my fuel door actuator which cycled through lock and unlock without doing either. After removing the interior panels necessary to get to it I could see that the bolts/screws holding it in place were loose or missing. It was a little difficult but I replaced them and the actuator works fine now. Have you been able to check yours? 2000 ML320.

Jim,

It looks like the actuating motor (this is what mb call it) on mine still have all the screw and bolts.

On mine I open the compartment door to the first aid kit. One mine it still works but it make a lot of noise. Like teeth grinding. but it has all the bolts. Maybe the push rod need to be adjusted. Does anyone know how?

Another question can the actuating motor be access with out removin the internal pannels??

thanks

fyi. for future references.

FYI.

I remove the motor unit this weekend. I was able to remove the motor unit just by removing the two screws on the motor unit. It can be accessed with a angle screw driver through the first-aid compartment. Don't have to take apart anything else!!!

thanks
