99 ML 320 Rear Hatch Doesn't Lock

G'day,

My ML320's rear hatch no longer locks. When I press the lock button on the remote I do not hear any sounds coming from the rear hatch but when I press unlock I definately hear something trying to cycle which I assume is the lock mechanism.

Any Ideas?
