Trailer Brake TSB for 2007 ML350

Anyone have a copy of the TSB dated Mar 9, 2007 with number T-B-31.19/07d that describes how to install an electric trailer brake controller that they would be willing to share? I have seen reference to this TSB in various places, but not a copy of it. It is my understanding that there is a 4 wire pigtail under the dash that can be hooked right up to the controller, and that the TSB contains the wiring diagram.

None of the MB dealers in my area will install the controller, and only 1 hitch place anywhere near here would be willing to do it, so I am just going to do it myself.

Here it is:

Good luck.

Thanks so much! Glad I got this as I was told ALL 2007 MLs had the connector under the dash. Looks like mine is in the back (which is stupid by MB, as a brake controller is ALWAYS up by the driver). Looks like I will be extending some wires.

Trailer brake controller needs to be in front because ... ?

Several reasons. First, many states require by law that the driver have access to it to adjust it while driving. Second, you want to be able to adjust it especially if your trailer load varies (such as an empty car trailer or one with a car on it) or if road conditions change. Finally, if it is more than just a time delay controller (i.e., the kind with a pedulum) it needs to be mounted in such a way that the front to rear axis of the controller is in line with that of the car, and it is level horizontally (not necessarily vertically). I do not know how you could mount it properly back in that little compartment in the back.

But, as for me, this may all be moot. The TSB says that the wires for the controller on all pre December 2006 MLs are in the back. My truck is a November 2006 build, but when I looked in the back, the connector is not in there. I did not have the time yesterday to pull off the bottom of the dash and see if the pigtail is there (as the TSB says it is from Dec. 2006 forward). Hopefully it is and that will make installation a snap (theoretically).

I have a 2002 ML55 AMG and am trying to install an OEM hitch and wiring. I'm looking for the TSB for the controller. I followed the old link and it's 404.
Would somebody please post it or a good link for it again ?
