02 ML320 - MCS - No Sound or CD - Help!

Hello All,

2002 ML320

Long Story short, I just had the Main ECU and fusebox replaced - Bad INjector caused a surge is the best way to describe it. When I got the car back it asked for the code, so it was a simple case of putting the code in, except Now the MCS won't put out any sound and when you select the CD it says "No CD player installed".

Its back at the shop where I had the ECU put in I thought it would be a simple case of just programming the new ECU to recognise the system, the shop says it sees the MCS, but cannot tell me anything further. they have checked the AMP behind the dash and say thats OK also.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

David.

The audio system is activated thru a fiber optic system, MB calls that a D2B ring.

Does you shop have a scanner that can check the fiber optic system?

The radio (or command) sends a fiber optic signal to wake up the others in the system.

Have they checked to see if there was a fiber optic signal to the CD player & made sure that it had power?

MB Doc,

The Shop has the Necessary Computer set up for Drive activation of the ECU, and the Gentleman I have been working with says the system "Sees" the MCS.

FWIW when the ML Broke down with the Bad Coil, my wife was listening to the Radio while waiting for the Tow Truck, so I know it was working under the old ECU.

Is there a seperate system to activate the DB2?

The command unit is the ring master.
