Need to change my G430 engine from 6cyl. to 8 cyl.

I have w463 1990 MY with 2300c.c 6 cyl. engine and I need to change it to 8Cyl. engine please advise, do I need also to change trans.

The 2300 cc engine is a 4 cylinder; and my guess would be a "yes".
