asr/esb battery related?
 

I came home yesterday and the neighbors son was changing the battery in her 2001 ml350. afterwords the asr esb light was on. I searched and it looks like it could be a problem with brake switch but i also saw a thread that asked if someone had changed the battery and the result was a light on. what would cause this?

The steering angle sensor must be re-synchronized by going from lock to lock several times.

What you need to do after battery disconnect is listed in owners manual.

thanks for the responses, She bought the truck used a few years ago and the dealer she got it from promised her a manual but never came through. Is the procedure listed here?
