Door Sill Converter Box. Location???

Hello,

Does any know where the door sill light convert box(dc/ac converter) is located for the pessenger door sill light??

Is it behind the vertical wall cover which is located to the right of where the passenger feet would be??

It's behind the kick panel next to the passenger's right foot or the driver's left foot. It is moulded into the wire with a connector on each end. It's a simple plug and play; but do not leave the new one connected to the power without it also being plugged into the light panel, or you'll burn it out.

thanks I found it last night. (mini writeup)

thanks I found it last night. for future references. the invertor is in the side kick box (area to the side of the feet just infront of the door). There is a oval hold in the metal side wall cover by a white plast sheet if you remove the carpet. It is just dangling there among other things. There is also a plastic pouch there (this is not it and if you are careful does not need to be remove. Also the sill lights does not have to be remove to change out the inverter.

The problem is that the dealer wants over $250 for the invertor and I saw one web site that wants $179 for it. Any ides where I can get it lower. Better yet any information on how I can just repart the broken components for pennies.

p.s. I spend much time on the G last light in the garage my girlfriend this I am have an afair with the G.

Before you buy a new one, switch side with the other side to be sure that it is the inverter. Last one I purchased about 3 yrs ago was in the $40 range.

Since this is a parts website, why not see what Phil charges. If you want a comparison, drop me an email; and I can give you the name of a MBUSA dealer who discounts the MB List Price - not the Matrix Pricing version.

If you have the P/N, I can look the MBUSA List Price up for you.

Thanks,

I ahve already switch one side of the sill light with the other earlier. when I switch the passenger light would work on the driver side and the driver light will not work on the passenger side.

I know best to change the invertor too. But you think this is good enough proof that it is the invertor. Just don't want to dig into the driver side too.

thanks
