Blinking Low range Light
I have a 98 ml 320 with 157000 miles. When I start the engine the low range light blinks for ten times and will go out or it will go out as soon as I put it in gear. The transmission shifts fine and the ml is not stuck in low gear.and the ml runs perfectly. Could this have something to do with the abs system even though I have no breaking problems.Does anyone know what this blinking light indicates.................Thanks.........................

That problem used to be caused by the transfer case shift motor and the control unit being confused as to what gear it was in. Try to shift it up and down, that used to cure it's confusion. If that doesn't work it may well need a new shift motor.

With the engine running, parking brake applied, try switching the T/C switch back & forth between hi/low about 10-12 times.
Then shut-off & re-start the car, if the problem happens again you will need to get the system scanned for faults.
