The wife wants running boards for her '09 GL450. The dealer wants close to $1500 installed for the stainless steel rubber studded running boards (part # B66880630); a serious ripoff considering it's just a $600 option from the factory.
Anyone have any recommendations? I'm thinking of going with running boards by Romik for $490 out the door. Any thoughts/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. |

I'd be worried about fit/durability. I have the factory running boards and the fit and finish is very good.
If you can buy the product and test the fit, and then return if it doesn't work, it could be worth exploring. Though the cost is steep, I would go for OEM on this vehicle. I'm not sure if it is a 'rip-off', every option installed after the vehicle has left the factory is more expensive than the initial purchase option price. There is often greater expense and labor involved in installing the parts, especially if there is fitment expertise required.

That sucks...which is why I went ahead and tried to get every desireable option at the time of purchase.
Check ebay from time to time, as someone may offer those for a better price...
