2001 ML320, Long cranking, finally starts.

Hello everyone. Well, I have a 2001 ML320 that just started taking several seconds of cranking before it finally starts. Its seems to happen after it sits a while, but will start right back up if you shut it off and try to restart it to replicate the problem. And because of the automatic starting dealio, if you remove your hand from cranking the key, it keeps cranking until it finally starts. But once, it cranked for a little bit of a longer time, so it stopped trying to crank by it self. Once it starts, though, its fine. No misfire, no dying while running or driving. Replaced the CPS, no luck.

I have read through the thread with some similar problems, but most had more severe starting and running issues as well. And most were older MLs.

Any ideas??

Thanks.
