1998 ML 320 Weird Running Issue

My ML 320 runs find the majority of the time every once in a while I will be driving and the orange triangle in the center of the speedometer starts flashing and instantly the car starts running really rough and loses power, this only happends for a few seconds then it is ok again. When it starts running better the orange triangle stops flashing. Any idea what my issue may be?

The "orange" triangle is to suggest that you are exceeding the limit of traction for the rear wheels. Do all 4 tires have the same circumference? with-in a 1/4".

It can back-off the throttle and OR apply the brakes.
