Question 98 ML320 - Fuel Filter and New Fuel Lines

I have the following questions:

I had the fuel pump replaced on my 98 ML 320 two years ago at about 48k miles (under warranty - it was making a noise).

The dealer tells me now at 70k that I need a new fuel filter (96.20 labor + 75 parts) and updated lines (148 labor + 62.56 parts). Is it possible that any of these were replaced/updated when the new fuel pump was installed?

The labor cost seems excessive to me since both these items will be replaced at the same place. Am I correct?

Will these parts be listed individually in my old receipt?

Have the lines been updated since 2002?
What are the new part numbers for the lines?

Is there a recall/safety issue involving the fuel lines? If yes, should I pay for it?

Your feedback is always appreciated.

Thanks
