2007 ML 320 CDI ball joint squeak
I just notices a squeaking coming from the left front when I slowly accelerate or decelerate or push the brakes or turn the wheel while parked. cant really duplicate it by pushing down on the front end. could this be the ball joint ? I see its a problem on the earlier style ML. only have 90K miles. My 2003 GMC envoy has over 200K miles on it and its holding up alot better.
grateful for any help.. Scott

Answer
Before you replace them.
It is worth the effort to try lubricating them with a light grease. White lithium seems to penetrate fairly well. Here is the cheap special tool you need. List: Search for 'grease gun needle' | O'Reilly Auto Parts Advance Auto Parts: Search Results for grease gun needle Grease Injector Needle - Google Search .

Thanks, I tried that and it still squeaked. Turns out that it was coming from a plate that attaches the frame to the lower control arm. I tightened it and shot it with wd 40. it went away. it was driving me crazy.
