General on going maintenance Lucas carb & fuel injector cleaner additives K&N Filter
2002 ML 320 Km 220 000.00
I am one of the most distrusting individuals when it comes to companies marketing car additives. BUT - in any event spoke to an individual who says he always adds on every 2nd. fill up: Lucas carb and fuel injector and claims it also lubricates the upper parts of the motor and even in his lawnmower (He has had 2 mowers in 20yrs - - mind you he may have postage stamp to mow or he might have conventional size lawn to mow - I don't know) Any further recomendations? or noticeable success stories or experinces in actually noticing improvements? PS I have been running a K&N Filter (air) and have experinced a feeling of up to 2hp increase and better fuel mileage |
Apparently all the young mechanics or technicians are using Sea foam. Also, the difference between Lucas and the sea foam - Sea Foam is one bottle and can be used in the oil as an additive and an injector cleaner in the fuel tank.

I've used Lucas injector cleaner, I buy the big 32oz bottle and add some to my gas cars. I've had cars run noticeably smoother and seem to have a minor mpg improvement. However there is no scientific way that I have to measure smoothness. So its all my perception. Cleaner injectors make for better spray patterns and better atomization so it all stands to reason but I don't have numbers to back up that claim.
I've used seafoam as a fuel additive and I've also sucked it into a vacuum line to clean carbon out of a motor. I have had old American V8s run better after some seafoam sucked into the intake. But again this all my perception, I never pulled the intake manifold to see if the valves looked cleaner. |
Thank you diesel,
It is good to hear practical experiences. When u say vacuum line do you mean older vehicles were there is no chance of an engine trouble light been illuminated or triggered - can you please elaborate... |
