07 R350,0016 code

I have an R350 with 103k miles and it is throwing a 0016 code. When I turn off the check engine light it will stay off for a couple of days and then come back on. The engine runs just fine other than that. I know that usually that means balance shaft failure and major engine work. I have looked and the engine number is not in the range of the effected engines. I have swapped the camshaft position sensor and put new adjuster magnets on the right side of the engine. Any thoughts?

Checking the basic camshaft position will show if the balance shaft is the problem.

I guess I need to take it in to the dealer. Since it is just that one code 0016 or 1200, is that a good sign? Doesn't the balance shaft throw a 1200 and 1208. Have you seen a balance shaft failures on an engine that supposedly is out of the affected engine number range? If not the balance shaft is the magnet the most likely suspect?

Yes, I'm curious myself... hopefully it's just the harnesses to the cps.... but if not, i saw a youtube video on lining up the engine at 305 degrees to check the balance shaft "alignment."
I have a 2006 E350 and have been told that my engine was an early production that also was not affected by the balance shaft issue.

ANYBODY?
