2011 350ML Electrical Issues
 

2011 350ML has been reluctant to start - takes two to three attempts then engages. The sunroof is also acting strangle. Went to close it, started to close then reversed and opened. What do you think is the cause? Are these related to an electrical issue or independent?

Same symptom with both keys???

The sunroof pinch protection is being activated. Lube the sliders/rails and re-synch it.

Thanks - Haven't tried different keys. Any trick to re-synch?

both keys do the same - took awhile to kick over.

Re-synch may not work if the roof panel is binding but give it a shot and see what happens. Hold the switch in the manual pop-up position for a few seconds after the roof is fully open. That should do it.

The start-up issue may be a bit much to diagnose via PP. Could be any number of things. If you have access to someone with SDS you can do the drive authorization test and start ruling things out, but start with the basics. Battery condition/terminals tight.......
