Physically it will fit, but it won't work. In 2002, the changer was integrated to the MCS unit via fiber optics (D2B ring). Prior to 2002, they are all the same, they are hardwired to the radio or MCS unit.

Question follow up question

gilly and all,

I have a 2000 with a 4" scream but it is not fiber optic?? 2000 are nto fiber optic??

If mine is not fiber optic could I all cd changer that are not fiber optic from 98-99???

And also there is mention that even though the cd changer plugs in you have to get it program. Does that apply to fiber optic cd changer only or to all cd changer??

thanks.

Blau:
By "4" scream" I assume you mean "4" screen", which is actually referred to as an MCS unit (Modular Control System).
Yes, the changer from 1998 to 2001 will operate in your truck. It will not require any programming to work, it's "plug and play" on these ML's, except a 2002.
