2002 ML320 cps replacement cost?

Daughter has classic symptoms of bad CPS. Car runs fine, gets hot and quits. Will not start. Cools down and starts and runs fine until cycle starts again.

She was quoted $900 in Auburn by someplace that said the "whole thing was bad." No idea what that means.

Doesn't that sound like an outrageous quote for a CPS replacement?
