R350 diesel just stops running
Hi all!
So our blasted R350 left me stranded.. just quit running while I was on the freeway doing 65. Coasted to a stop and it wouldnt start again. When you turn the key all the lights come on as they should and you go to the next click over to start and nothing happens. Not as though its a battery or starter issue.. it seems more switch related. Since then the problem is intermittent but I wouldnt trust it to make it down the street without quitting on me... I noticed this though.. the glow plug light doesnt come on when this is happening. Another thing, for a while now I noticed that when it does start up as normal, the glow plug light will come on after like 5-10 seconds of idling and it stays on for about 30 seconds. Any of you guys experience this before? My local indie mercedes guy couldnt nail it down.. He said he thinks theres a bad ground somewhere. Thanks guys! Opossum

I wonder if this question might be better if posted in Diesel Discussion?

Glow plug light coming on after it starts indicates a bad glow plug you should also have a engine fault light on also.
Was it raining out or did the vechile get wet when the engine quit?
