ML 350 bad camshaft balancer

Can anyone tell me if my 2007 ML350 is outside the range of bad camshaft balancers? My engine number is: 27296730 612083.

Thanks

Mercedes-Benz with the improved parts have engine serial numbers that are higher than:

M272 Engine Serial No. 2729..30 468993
M273 Engine Serial No. 2739..30 088611

I really believe the lightweight oil used in engines today is not sufficient for the heat. There is no way a base stock oil of 0 or 5w can change to a 30 or 40. I think a straight weight 30 synthetic is best. I had a German engineer tell me that a base of 10 cannot ever act like a 30 or 40 when it gets hot.

The oil has nothing to do with the balance shaft issue. The root cause was insufficient hardening of the sprocket resulting in premature wear....
