Check Engine Light ON

I am wondering why the chech engine light came on after i cleaned my K&N filter, got an oil change, and changed my spark plugs. That was yesterday and today it lighted up. Is there something wrong with the 99 ML320? Any advice

Thanks

I've had a few cases similar to this where I just did plugs, air filter, fuel filter on an ML, truck runs great, but comes back a few days later with the check engine light on. In these cases, I'd have the mixture self-adaptation at limits being caused apparently by the mass air flow sensor. You could try having the self-adaptations reset and see if the light comes back on or not. If it does I'd say it's the mass air flow sensor. Best bet is to get the codes read out and see what the fault code is listed as. i assume it's running fine? Did you use the recommended plug (Bosch/MB plug) or an aftermarket plug?

No idea why doing this work would either cause the mixture self-adaptation to go to limits, or affect the mass air flow sensor.
