Gilly: Are you aware of anyone installing a Siemen's navigation system in a 98, or 99 ML's....It is the pod-style navigation system. They went to the new cooler looking screen in 2000. I'd love to get one, but is it worth it......Carlos

I've installed both kinds. The pod type, if you like the look of it and really want a nav system, is the way to go. Kind of a difficult install. The cd driver goes under the passenger seat, so klutzy to change discs and it's a CD-rom type, not dvd, so lots of discs are required if you travel long distances. There are probably aftermarket nav systems that are better. I believe the NL systems are all Siemens, incl the 2000 on up MCS systems. All the other systems (COMAND) are Bosch.
It would be difficult to say the least to install an MCS unit, and then you'd still need to buy the nav kit to install in to it. Gilly
