l recently inquired about upgrading my current speedo in my 99 ML 430, to a ML 55 speedo, the white-faced one...lokks great. My dealer is trying to tell me it costs $500.00 bucks(canadian), about $375.00(american)...is this right...or is this guy taking me to the cleaners.... l've seen other white-faced speedo's for $179.00(american), specifically designed for ML's....is the dealer trying to fleece me or what...any help would be appreciated...he also said something about , it needs to be coded...can someone out there enlighten me....thanks...

that is correct
You buying a mercedes part, which is very expensive.. that is the original ml55 OEM instrument cluster.. its not a cheap indiglo gauge with special colors, it only comes in white, imo its not worth the money whose gonna look at it most of the time? you,
i rather spend my $500 on a bush guard or something lol good luck and there is no indiglo gauges made for the ml320 unfortunately |

I agree...your money could be better spent elsewhere than trying to make your ML look like a 55...
...as far as cost, consider that when I broke the instrument cluster lens on my SL, I was out $327 at the dealer parts counter! ![]() And I'm just talking about the plastic cover, not the actual gauges!!! SO that's not a bad price compared to replacement parts costs of the other MB models... ...as far as coding, I'm not sure, but the ML55 might have a different gear ratio profile than the ML430, so the speedo might have to be recalibrated...
