Extended Warranty-Is It Worth It?
 

Hi All: Well, my wife's 99 ML320 is sneaking up on its last few months of new-car warranty and we're considering the Signature Class (Starmark in US) extended coverage...

So far, the only warranty items requiring repair was the mass airflow sensor (accompanied by a $300 tow also covered under warranty) and a few trim bits that fell off.

My wife has racked up the miles pretty fast and we're likely to hit the mileage limit before the time limit on a 3-year/160k km extension. OTOH, the price for "powertrain only" coverage for the 3rd year is minimal. Its the $2000 (Canadian= $1300 US) premium for 2-years/160k km extended coverage that is my major concern...thats over $60/month!!

We could get just the Roadside Assistance @ $60 annually.

Extended warranty - IS IT WORTH IT? :confused:

Worst case scenario is you go several more years without a problem. That said, I bought one for my ML :)
